The Abernethy National Nature Reserve is an important conservation area with the largest remnant of Scots (Caledonian) pine woodland in the UK. Since the 1950s ospreys have bred successfully here and there is an observation area, displays and viewing opportunities including a live webcam. The RSPB Loch Garten Centre lies within the Abernethy NNR.
