Starting from the fishing village of Buckie, the Way follows the coastline before heading slightly inland to pick up railway trackbed and woodland path. Emerging on a quiet road into the village of Spey Bay, the Way takes you to the Scottish Dolphin Centre. Afterwards it heads upstream (south) parallel to the Spey on woodland and riverside paths, and enters the classical village of Fochabers past a memorial garden.
